In 2009 Chatzis moved to Ilisiakos and his last team was Arkadikos in A2 League. With AEK he had won twice the Greek Championship (2000, 2001) and in 2000 he also won the Saporta Cup. Chatzis played 554 games in the A1 League of Greece and scored 5.200 points, becoming the top scorer of the Greek Basket League in 30th March 2014.

Nikos Chatzis retired
Nikos Chatzis retired. The 39 years old Greek guard announced that he retires as a player and will continue his career in basketball as a coach. In his announcement he highlights the European Under 16 Championship that he won in 1993, and the World Under 19 Championship that he won in 1995.
