Biography
Cyril Langevine Jr. (born August 16, 1998) is a Guyanese-American professional basketball player known for his strong presence in the paint and his defensive skills. Raised in East Orange, New Jersey, Langevine attended The Patrick School where he excelled in basketball, averaging 10 points, seven rebounds, and two blocks per game as a senior. He committed to Rhode Island over offers from several other colleges.
College Career
Langevine played college basketball for the Rhode Island Rams from 2016 to 2020. As a freshman, he contributed to a team that reached the NCAA Tournament, averaging 3.2 points and 4.5 rebounds per game. His junior year was particularly standout, where he averaged 14.7 points, 9.9 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks per game, earning him a spot on the Second Team All-Atlantic 10. He concluded his college career with an average of 10.1 points, 10.3 rebounds, and two blocks per game in his senior year.
Professional Career
Langevine began his professional career in Sweden with Jämtland Basket in the 2020-21 season. He impressed with averages of 15.1 points, 12.2 rebounds, 1.1 assists, and 1.9 blocks per game, earning First Team All-Basketligan honors and helping his team reach the semifinals.
In the 2021-22 season, he moved to Poland, playing for Śląsk Wrocław where he averaged 9.2 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.1 assists, and 1.1 blocks per game. He also had a stint with King Szczecin in Poland, averaging 9.4 points, 7.7 rebounds, 0.9 assists, and 1.3 blocks per game.
Langevine joined Lavrio in Greece in December 2022, where he played 14 league games, averaging 12.4 points and 6.9 rebounds per game. Following his time at Lavrio, he signed with Scagliera Verona in Italy before moving to Chorale Roanne Basket in France for the 2023-24 season, where he averaged 5.4 points and 3.8 rebounds over 30 games.
Eurocup Records
During his tenure with Śląsk Wrocław in the Eurocup, Langevine recorded a personal best of 19 points against Lietuvos Rytas and grabbed 10 rebounds in a match against Lokomotiv Kuban.
