Mykonos BC Makes History with First American Signing: Colin Slater Joins the Team

In a landmark move, Mykonos BC has announced the signing of their first-ever American player, Colin Slater. The 26-year-old point guard, standing at 1.86 meters, brings a wealth of experience and talent to the team. Slater's collegiate career

Colin Slater's basketball journey began in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he was born on October 29, 1997. He honed his skills at Immanuel High School in California before playing college basketball at Tulane and Long Beach State.

Tulane Green Wave (2016-2018): In his freshman year, Slater averaged 4.0 points, 1.0 rebound, and 0.8 assists per game. His sophomore year saw him average 2.7 points, 0.8 rebounds, and 1.0 assist per game.

Long Beach State 49ers (2019-2022): His performance improved significantly, with averages of 10.2 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game in the 2019-20 season. In his senior year (2021-22), he posted impressive stats with 14.4 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game. 

Slater's professional career

After graduating, Slater embarked on a professional career that took him across Europe. His journey included stints in Turkey, Finland, and North Macedonia, where he played for teams like Kozuv and Gostivar.

Finland (Korihait):

2021-22 Season: During his time with Korihait in the Finnish league, Slater demonstrated his scoring ability and playmaking skills. He averaged 13.7 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game. His versatility and ability to adapt to different playing styles were evident throughout the season.

North Macedonia:

2022-23 Season with Kozuv: Slater played 12 games for Kozuv, averaging 12 points, 3.3 assists, and 3 rebounds per game. His consistent scoring and ability to distribute the ball effectively helped the team in crucial moments.

2022-23 Season with Gostivar: Following his stint with Kozuv, Slater moved to Gostivar, where he continued to impress with an average of 13 points and 5 assists per game. His performance helped elevate the team’s competitiveness in the league.

Turkey (Bornova) - TBL:

2022-23 Season: Colin Slater had an outstanding season with Bornova, where he averaged 16.3 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 5.2 assists per game over 13 games. His consistent performance and ability to contribute in multiple facets of the game made him a valuable player for the team.
